The core step in producing limestone powder is grinding. The main process is as follows:
Raw Ore → Refining → Crushing (Jaw Crusher) → Grinding (Key Step) → Classification → Collection → Packaging
Crushing: Large pieces of limestone are crushed into smaller pieces (e.g., a few centimeters).
Grinding: Small stones are ground into powder using specialized grinding equipment. This is the most crucial step.
Classification: The ground powder is blown up by an airflow and passed through an analyzer (classifier). Qualified fine powder is selected, while coarse powder is returned for further grinding.
Collection: Qualified powder is collected by a cyclone collector and a pulse-jet bag filter.
Main Grinding Equipment:
Raymond Mill (Pendulum Mill): Most commonly used, suitable for processing powders between 80-400 mesh.
Vertical Mill: Large, efficient, low energy consumption, suitable for large-scale production (e.g., power plant desulfurization agent preparation).
Ball Mill: Can produce finer products, but energy consumption is relatively high.
Ultrafine vertical mill/ring roller mill: used to produce ultrafine powders with a mesh size of 800 or larger.
